During a couple of days in July, we had the great joy to have Srila Paramadvaiti Swami with us here in Umeå. He came to share with us his spiritual realizations and the Vedic wisdom. Guru Maharaj emphasized the importance of a vegetarian diet, which is directly connected to a successful spiritual life, and we learned about the Spoon Revolution. In this way we were inspired to make something nice to promote vegetarism in our town and in our life.
The days with Guru Maharaj were happy days for us, and many people among us were engaged in preparations, cooking, making garlands, attending the programs and coming together. On Tuesday evening Guru Maharaj came from the airport to Parama Karuna Ashram together with Brahma Samhita prabhu, and we started our program outdoors before we went in to the temple for artik, bhajans and lecture. And after this, we took nice prasadam together.
Next day started with a morning program in the ashram, and after prasadam we were invited to Jyoti and Tony in their house nearby the river. One priest from the Catholic church in Umeå was also invited, and we found that many Catholics nowadays actually also embrace the vegetarian diet and understand that loving God means also to love the animials and respect all life.
After a delicious prasadam, Guru Maharaj and the people who had come together with him, went out in the sunny weather for a walk by the riverside.
Before going back to the ashram for the evening program, Jyoti took Guru Maharaj and a few more people on a guided tour in Umeå and to the Nydala lake.
A public program was arranged for the evening in the hall downstairs of the temple, and we could listen to inspiring words by Guru Maharaj, sing bhajans and make questions. Later we had a prasadam feast with many delicious dishes, meanwhile the conversations and questions continued in the evening.
Our days with Guru Maharaj here in Umeå were very intensive and inspiring, and naturally they passed very quickly. Early on Thursday morning Guru Maharaj and Brahma Samhita prabhu left us in Umeå and went back to Gothenburg to continue the mela with the devotees there.

I am grateful to all who helped in all practical things and happy for everyone who attended the programs. It was really wonderful, and I think that we all will remember these days with a happy and grateful heart.
