Yoga Inbound Tour in South America

By Bhakti Sakti dasi

Dear devotees and friends!

I would like to tell you the story of our Yoga Inbound tour in South America in February this year.

The tour was like a pilgrimage to all the ashrams and centres of the Vrinda family in the different towns of Peru, Bolivia and Chile. First we have visited the Eco Truly park, Chacra y Mar, where we had the chance to meet Guru Maharaj. He presented to the group the Yoga planetarium and the trip of Gopa Kumara to the spiritual world. We had a nice program with the mataji Hare Krishna who performed two Indian dances, and then we had very delicious prasadam cooked by the devotees in the farm.

Soon we had to leave to continue our journey to Lima, and from there same day to the city of Arequipa. Just four hours to the north of Arequipa, is situated the Colca canyon – the deepest canyon in the world. We had a wonderful morning in the valley of Colca, waiting for the beautiful flight of the condors and meditating surrounded by the clouds.

After Arequipa our journey continued to the city of Cuzco, where we stayed in the ashram of the devotees. We enjoyed the company of prabhu Govardhan and the mataji Maha Shakti who helped us a lot in the organization, accommodating the people and cooking prasadam for them. We had one full day in the sacred town of the Incas - Machu Picchu, which is situated in the southern Amazon jungle. It is one of the energy centres of the world built by the Incas from 11 till 14 century. They believe in the reincarnation, the law of karma and the different demigods, maintaining the universe.

Next day we continued to the sacred lake of Titicaca. We visited the artificial islands of Uros drifting in the lake and the island of the knitting men of Taquile. From Peru we continued to Bolivia, visiting the ruins of Tiwanaku and later we reached La Paz. The devotees from the ashram in La Paz welcomed us and helped us in organizing the tour – prabhu Indranath, mataji Hana, mataji Manjari. We had our lunch and dinner in the restaurant of the devotees, which is situated in the ashram, and the mataji Manjari cooked for us wonderful prasadam.

Our last stop was in Chile. We crossed the border of Bolivia and Chile where the highest lake in the world is situated – Chungara – at an altitude of 5200 metres over the sea level. We visited the ashram of Arica where Narayan Maharaj was giving wonderful kirtans and lectures morning and evening. Many devotees were coming back from the meeting with Gurudev in Lima on the way back to Chile. The devotees in Arica have a very beautiful restaurant and ashram near the centre of the city.

Next day we visited the eco truly farm Goura mandala with prabhu Gouranga who helped us very much in the organization. We had a little walk around the farm to see the beautiful construction of the trulys, the kitchen of Radharani and the temple of Sri Sri Gour Nitay. We had delicious prasadam in the restaurant of the farm.

We would like to express our gratitude to all the devotees who welcomed us so warmly in all the countries and places and for all the help and service they offered to us. And also our thanks to our Guru Maharaja who gave us this beautiful service of organizing Inbound yoga tours to the different spiritual places around the world.

Trying to serve,
Bhakti Sakti dasi
